Dejan Milojević, assistant coach of the Golden State Warriors, passed away at the age of 46 following a heart attack.
The heart attack occurred during a team dinner in Utah, leading to his hospitalization.
The Warriors organization expressed deep sorrow and devastation over Milojević's unexpected death.
Head coach Steve Kerr described Milojević as a "terrific basketball coach" and a "positive and beautiful human being."
Before joining the Warriors, Milojević coached KK Buducnost and led them to a league title and national cups in Serbia and Montenegro.
He also coached Nikola Jokić, one of the NBA's top players, at KK Mega Basket, a Serbian professional team.
Milojević himself was a three-time MVP in the Adriatic Basketball Association and had a 14-year career as a player.
At the Warriors, he primarily worked with the team's forwards and centers, contributing to their development.
Following his death, the NBA postponed the scheduled Warriors-Jazz game as the team grieved.
He is survived by his wife Natasa, and two children, Nikola and Masa.
